New shorter-term opportunities and resourcing
GO! enables individuals, teams, families, and congregations to engage in short-term cross-cultural missions in assignments lasting from one week to one year.
GO! assignments can include: exploring new regions for ministry, assisting long-term missionaries on the field, testing a longer-term call to missions, teaching English, interceding in prayer, and more.
GO! has two branches
- GO! sending: assignments that EMM designs, and fully coordinates, for those age 18 or older who want to join with other adults in cross-cultural ministry, or who desire individual assignments. To apply, contact Sherrie Ober at 717 898-2251.
- GO! resourcing: assignments for congregational teams, families, or any other group that will coordinate their own mission team. Assistance is provided in preparing, coordinating, leading, and debriefing a team by a trained GO! coach. Coaches also facilitate “Short-term mission training weekends” to prepare teams for their mission assignments. For more information, contact Chris Epp at 717 232-4224.

GO! resourcing opportunities
Form a congregational team to assist in earthquake relief
On March 28, 2005, an 8.2 magnitude earthquake struck Nias, Indonesia, off the Sumatra Island coast, causing major damage. Indonesian Mennonites invite short-term teams to come for 12-20 days to assist with basic ongoing relief operations and rebuilding. This is a significant opportunity for a congregational intergenerational team. Contact Chris Epp at 717 232-4224 for more information.

Benefits of GO!
GO! enables those with limited experience in cross-cultural mission to serve by connecting them with appropriate mission opportunities.
GO! gives churches increased flexibility and ministry tools to participate more fully in global outreach.
GO! helps to ensure excellence in short-term missions by training participants to engage in cross-culturally sensitive and relevant ways.
GO! provides more opportunities for short-term missionaries to connect and serve with long-term cross-cultural missionaries.
GO! releases more individuals and groups of all ages to get involved in cross-cultural missions, so that “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14).
