BALTIMORE, Md. – This fall Eastern Mennonite Missions (EMM) sent its first U.S.-based YES team in 10 years. The team, made up of four young adults between the ages of 18 and 21, is partnering in mission with Wilkens Avenue Mennonite Church in inner city Baltimore.

During my 27-year-stay in Africa, one of the things I did was to provide treatment for Burkitt's Lymphoma (BL) - a fast-growing, aggressive cancer in children. BL is the most common form of cancer in Tanzania.

My youth group at Marion Mennonite Church is full of amazing people whom I get to see every Wednesday. But when we spent a whole week together in Reading, Pa., as an EMM K-team, we shared tears and laughter and met amazing people who will not easily be forgotten.

DET UDOM, Thailand – Prior to Lek (not his real name due to security concerns) believing in Jesus, ten of his fifteen children died. After he became a Christian, his children stopped dying. People in his village noticed!

Mahlon Hess, EMM educator and editor, dies at 97

LANCASTER, Pa. – Mahlon Hess, an Eastern Mennonite Missions (EMM) worker who served over 20 years in Musoma, Tanzania, as an educator and in the U.S. as an editor, was remembered at a memorial service at Landis Homes Retirement Community in Lititz, Pa. on Sunday, October 19, 2014.
