My youth group at Marion Mennonite Church is full of amazing people whom I get to see every Wednesday. But when we spent a whole week together in Reading, Pa., as an EMM K-team, we shared tears and laughter and met amazing people who will not easily be forgotten.
DET UDOM, Thailand – Prior to Lek (not his real name due to security concerns) believing in Jesus, ten of his fifteen children died. After he became a Christian, his children stopped dying. People in his village noticed!
EMM’s 100-year celebration on October 17, 2014, included something not usually heard at a birthday party – a lament.
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:3-6
LANCASTER, Pa. – Mahlon Hess, an Eastern Mennonite Missions (EMM) worker who served over 20 years in Musoma, Tanzania, as an educator and in the U.S. as an editor, was remembered at a memorial service at Landis Homes Retirement Community in Lititz, Pa. on Sunday, October 19, 2014.
