EMM has two administrative regions in Africa: East Africa and West Africa.
Our dream is to be, and to inspire, a movement of movements all over East Africa and beyond. Our aim is transformation, not mere information; discipleship, not mere religion. We long for all people to become fully committed followers of Jesus, but recognize that there are many expressions of the kingdom of God and the work of the Holy Spirit.
In the Gambia/Senegal/Guinea-Bissau corridor, it is clearly the time for Anabaptist workers to be actively establishing faith communities. Presentation of the gospel from an Anabaptist perspective has been quite attractive to West Africans over the past several years and holds great potential for growth in the region and beyond. We have been building collaboration with local evangelical churches and seek to plant churches among people groups and in villages where Jesus is not well known, rather than competing with other denominations.
Every EMM worker's primary focus is to make disciples of Jesus. Join a team involved in education, healthcare, and community development whose members collectively have four children age six and under. Provide regular child care, allowing space for parents to engage in language learning and other ministry. Participate as an active team member; take hold of the opportunity to live in a thriving African neighborhood with housing logistics already in place, study a prominent East African language, and build relationships with friendly neighbors. This position requires a six-month commitment at minimum.
Every EMM worker's primary focus is to make disciples of Jesus. Be apprenticed to carry on the leadership development work of a seasoned EMM worker. Engage in both formal and informal discipleship. Applicants must be able to live and travel in in very basic, rural conditions. Fluency in French is strongly preferred. Given the cultural context, this position is for male applicants only.

Help managers stay in touch with the changing needs of guests. Engage with guests during breakfast and dinner; join them for tea when possible. Pastoral gifts, hospitable personality, and international experience desired.

Tour a North African country — or remain mostly in one city — learning Arabic and sharing the good news of Christ’s love and forgiveness with locals in creative ways. Be equipped to work with refugees and immigrants, developing a deeper understanding of the region from which many of them come.

Physicians, X-ray technicians/ultrasound techs, nurses, midwives, physical therapists, public health specialists, and a hospital administrator are needed to help train local staff and serve at a rural hospital in the Mattru Jong village. Be involved in disciple-making relationships as opportunities arise.
Every EMM worker's primary focus is to make disciples of Jesus. Travel around the region to a circuit of churches, or offer training in a relevant specialty (e.g. evangelism, discipleship, etc.). This position could be for to a non-resident worker who visited the region once or twice a year.

Using the EMM mission, core values, and guidelines for ministry practice as a guide, develop and shape the overarching goals and strategies for EMM in East Africa. Supervise all personnel who live within the region, seeking to empower and release gifts, and encouraging mutual accountability. Maintain relationships with national partners and network connections in the region, overseeing any funding and resources provided to their programs. Oversee the EMM-related organization Mennonite Board in Eastern Africa (MBEA) and related institutions: Amani Gardens Inn (AGI), SkyView Gardens (SVG) development, and Rosslyn Academy (RA). Applications will be received for individuals and for couples. Applicants must be willing to live in Nairobi, Kenya.

Sports ministries are safes places, away from the streets, where kids can be cared for and grow. We are looking for shepherding leaders who are marked by merciful action, transformative contemplation, and prophetic justice.

Share your expertise in areas of specialty such as leadership, theology, or ESL. The assignment can vary greatly depending on location.
