We at EMM believe that God is calling us into "ridiculous” amounts of prayer.
So we are looking for intercessors willing to commit to one hour of EMM-related prayer each week. These intercessors will receive a monthly email with one or two priority prayer requests to help guide their prayers.
No meetings are required. Members of this core prayer team are encouraged to share what they are hearing in prayer and are welcome to join EMM prayer gatherings as they are able.
Prayer is the channel through which God's power flows to bring His kingdom on earth. Our vision is to see that channel growing in size and strength so that we can see even greater transformation taking place around the world.

August 2019 Mission Intercessor
1 (Thurs.) U.S.
The re-entry retreat will be held August 1–4 at Black Rock Retreat Center in Quarryville, Pa. Pray for all the workers who are completing and transitioning back to North America. Pray for the staff who will resource the adults, children, and youth.
2 (Fri.) Honduras
Academia Los Pinares in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, is in urgent need of teachers for the upcoming school year. Pray for teachers to take advantage of this unique opportunity to use their skills.
3 (Sat.) Middle East
Pray for Jade* as she continues to settle into her new home and city. Pray that a job comes through for her as verbal agreements for her original job are falling through. Pray for good connections and friendships to develop.
4 (Sun.) U.S.
Continue to pray for an urban ministry/teaching intern to serve in Baltimore. This individual would learn principles of holistic urban ministry as they join a local church community that seeks to be part of gospel transformation through various ministries, including a small school.
5 (Mon.) Middle East
Praise the Lord with Michael and Laura* that the Lord of the harvest is answering prayer! Pray for Laura as she continues to invest in a ministry of hospitality, providing a welcoming and loving presence to friends, family, and seekers.
6 (Tues.) Wales, U.K.
Pray for Kelly Lapp as she prepares to return to the U.S. after her nine-month mission internship in Wales. Ask the Lord to give her wisdom and discernment for what He has next for her.
7 (Wed.) West Africa
Ask God for continued wisdom and discernment in J.C. Ebersole’s role as director of Africa Association of Bible Schools.

Continue to pray with us for an individual or two to consider serving as EMM's regional representative(s) for East Africa.

Praise God for the many opportunities Beryl Forrester has had to travel and resource church leaders on biblical teaching from an Anabaptist perspective. Pray for Beryl as he spends time in the U.S. this summer and shares with people some recommendations to expand these teachings for church leaders in West Africa.
10 (Sat.) U.S.
Thank God for the many people who faithfully support the mission of God through EMM. Pray for encouragement, vision, and perseverance for these people who help this work financially. May they be transformed through their giving!
11 (Sun.) Belize
Pray for Phyllis and Galen Groff as they continue to walk alongside the church in Belize. Pray for strength and encouragement to persevere as they disciple others.

Stefanie Good has just returned from her 10-month mission internship with the Vida220 discipleship program in Costa Rica. Pray that she would continue to grow in her discipleship journey as she transitions to life in the U.S.
13 (Tues.) Belize
Nathanael and Spring Davis and their family are on home leave and will return to Belize in mid-August. Pray for good times of refreshment and connections with family and friends. Pray for renewed energy and vision as they return to Belize.

Pray for a discipleship team member to live and serve in Costa Rica, joining a 10-month international discipleship school that provides intense training, practical ministry and leadership opportunities.

Pray that Michael and Nancy Hostetter will reflect the love of Jesus in their many relationships as they work with business men and women, church planting leaders, and individuals in Chile.

Please pray for the August 16–17 EMM Board meeting happening in Holmes County, Ohio. Pray that Board members can connect well with area leaders and churches who are now part of LMC.

Pray for Glen and June Kauffman to be encouraged and directed by the Holy Spirit as they encourage others in Hong Kong.

Remember Leah Zeiset in prayer as she transitions back into life in the U.S. from her 10-month mission internship with the Vida220 discipleship program in Costa Rica.

Pray for safety for Andres Prins as he travels in his role with the Christian-Muslim Relations Team. Pray for wisdom in preparation for presentations and for the many conversations he will have. May the Holy Spirit continue to draw many persons to Himself.

Amanda Martin has recently finished her summer mission internship in New York City. Pray that she would continue to live on mission with God and be open to where He would want to use her to be His hands and feet.

Media artists are needed to serve with a transformational business in Southeast Asia. Pray for one or more of these artists to invest time and skill in the communication pieces needed to foster continued growth for this business.

As David and Grace Shenk continue to serve in many roles with the Christian-Muslim Relations Team, ask God to strengthen them physically and spiritually and make them a blessing to many people.

Praise God for an amazing summer of Kingdom Teams! Pray that God would continue to be transforming the youth groups who were involved as well as those they ministered to.

The immigrant/refugee ministry of Darrel and Miriam* requires much empathy and wisdom. Ask God to equip them for every challenge as they serve in Eastern Germany.

Thank God for EMM's property at 450 North Prince Street in Lancaster, Pa. Pray that the vision that God has for engaging with many people in this property would be fulfilled. May this be a building filled with hospitality and love.

Alan and Carol Wert and their family are in the U.S. for the month of August. Pray for rest and refreshment for them as well as good connections as they work at fundraising.

Pray for people to consider mission service in Chile. Whether it's English teaching, camp ministry, or simple church development, opportunities await.

Pray for safety as Leon and Naomi Zimmerman travel to Africa in August to train and equip church leaders. Pray for wisdom as they plan and prepare their teaching resources.
