Launching people into life on mission

For 35 years, EMM’s YES program served as a place where people encountered God, His people, and the world in fresh ways. YES' joys and challenges transformed people — both participants and those they served. As EMM transitions the YES structures into new ways of catalyzing missional discipleship, we invite you to come celebrate the good, grieve the failures, and remember the remarkable experience that was YES. Be encouraged to continue to live in God's calling, wherever you are.

Learn to lend a hand

EMM invites teens and youth groups to spend an evening learning how to welcome refugees through their peer relationships and by volunteering through Church World Service (CWS). Christine Baer, congregational resource developer at CWS, will share about refugee needs and explain specific opportunities to serve. This is a wonderful chance for youth (grades 8–12) to learn how they, too, can serve refugees in Lancaster, Pa.

  • Date Saturday, July 9, 2016, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Location Hans Herr House, Willow Street, Pa.

Celebrate summer with international culture and flavor at EMM’s biggest event of the year! The 21st annual Global Fair—an open-air missions and culture festival—represents the vast scope of EMM’s global presence, all within the shady, historic grounds of the Hans Herr House. Each year, thousands of people meet the world through international activities: henna tattoos, African dance, friendly alpacas. And of course, the sights and scents of international food are always a big draw. Come talk to mission workers and hear their stories about God’s work in different countries around the world. And go on free tours of Hans Herr exhibits. Every year features something new, but it’s always family-friendly, fun and interactive, and free!

Those on the tour will be immersed in Arab Muslim culture in the Bronx and introduced to the stunningly pluralistic neighborhood of Flushing, Queens, in which nearly 200 various places of worship are packed into an area of 2.5 square miles. Participants will interact with mission pioneers and visionaries who are finding new ways to plant churches and take the gospel into these unique places. EMM vision and fundraising banquet

EMM has existed for well over 100 years, always striving to fulfill its calling. But it is important to step back from time to time and ask: What is EMM’s role in today’s world? Why does EMM exist?
