Sponsor a trekker to help build the PROMESA school

  • Date: October 15–24, 2017
  • Location: Ausangate Trek, Peru

Nine adventurous trekkers are taking on Peru’s wild, stunning Ausangate Trek to raise money for PROMESA, a Peruvian Mennonite school! With its craggy peaks and 17,000-foot altitude, the 57.5-mile trek is no easy challenge – but that’s how much the trekkers care about this cause!

What’s the cause?

PROMESA is a K–12 Peruvian Mennonite school. The school was started to give Peruvian children a quality Christian education, as well as to provide indigenous Quechua children an education alternative free from racial discrimination. Watch a video about PROMESA here.

Ever since its beginning in 2005, PROMESA has gathered in a local Mennonite church building. Now that almost 300 students are enrolled, the school has outgrown its building and is unable to enroll every new child who wants a PROMESA education.

Funds raised through this adventure trek will help PROMESA build a school of its own. The trekkers hope to raise $80,000 in total. You can join in by becoming a sponsor!
