SUMMARY:Business Leaders' Breakfast: Making Good Decisions when the Pressure is on
DESCRIPTION:It isn’t just about what you decide—it’s about how you decide it. \nYour team’s trust in your leadership isn’t just built on your results; it’s built on the integrity of your process. When the pressure is on\, automatically falling back on your “preferred” decision-making style can lead to discord and disunity. Join us for the EMM Business Leaders’ Breakfast to learn foundational skills for making informed\, healthy decisions. Merv will share insights that revolutionized his life and his MBA research\, giving you a framework to lead with clarity while building healthy relationships and regaining your team’s trust. \nWhat You Will Gain:\n\nThe Power of Alignment: Learn to move beyond your “default” style and select the decision-making method that best serves the situation.\nA Diagnostic for Discord: Gain insight into why certain decisions cause team friction and how communication and unhealthy decision-making styles may be the culprit.\nThe “Before” Factor: Master the one key focusing question that determines who needs to be involved before the gavel falls.\nFine-Tuning Your Instincts: Turn decision-making from a stressful event into a practiced\, high-level skill that builds an effective team.\n\nYour Leadership Toolkit\nEvery attendee will leave with practical resources to implement immediately: \n\nThe Healthy Decision Chart: A guide to the styles that build trust and effectiveness.\nThe “Caution” Chart: A diagnostic tool to help you identify and avoid unhealthy patterns.\nTwo Worksheets: Practice in advance in order to respond “intuitively” when the pressure is on.\n\nMervin Charles\, MBA\, grew up in Brazil\, graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College (Pastoral Ministries) and Taylor University (MBA)\, served 13 years in church planting in the US and Brazil\, 15 years with EMM – nine as Global Ministries director\, sending long-term workers\, and 14 years in pastoral ministry with turnaround congregations. His MBA research on decision-making resulted in a comprehensive body of work titled “Foundational Skills for Healthy Decision Making.” \nThere is limited parking at Hub 450. You are welcome to use nearby street parking on Prince Street\, Lemon Street\, or James Street\, which is limited to 2 hours and generally free or at least until 8:00 a.m. (please check the signs). Parking is also available at the Queen Street Garage (424 N Queen Street). Vouchers are available at the breakfast for those who park at the Queen Street Garage. You will need to get a ticket when you enter the garage and then can use the voucher to pay when you exit the garage. \nPlease register to attend by March 6.
