1. (Wed.) Costa Rica
Pray for Kayley Eshleman as she prepares for a mission internship with Vida220 this fall. Ask the Lord to provide as she raises funds for this assignment.

2. (Thurs.) Cambodia
Ryan and Bethany Umble are completing their assignment this summer. Pray that they will not feel overwhelmed as they desire to finish well while also preparing to move the family. Pray for wisdom and grace for the logistics of the move as well as for peace in the process.

3. (Fri.) U.S.
Kingdom Team summer staff members are needed to serve alongside youth groups as they relate to refugee children in Lancaster, Pa. Pray that God might provide more staff for these roles.

4. (Sat.) Wales, U.K.
Pray for Alan and Carol Wert, and their family, in their daily activities, that they will reflect Christ in what they say and do. Pray for protection over their physical health.

5. (Sun.) East Africa
EMM is looking for new regional representatives for East Africa. Join us in prayer for this role that requires a wide range of skills.

6. (Mon.) Kenya
Debbi DiGennaro and her family will be completing their service this summer and returning to the U.S. Pray for them as they conclude their ministry, say goodbye, and transition back to the U.S.

7. (Tues.) U.S.
Thank God for the wonderful ways in which EMM is faithfully supported. Pray that everything needed for God's vision through EMM would continue to be provided for.

8. (Wed.) Germany
Jonas and Hannah* are excited to see how Jesus, the Light of the world, is pushing back the darkness and transforming lives, one little step at a time. Pray for them as they prepare to go on sabbatical beginning in July.

9. (Thurs.) Chile
Teaching English in schools near Puerto Montt, Chile, opens doors to sharing and modeling Christian values and living. Pray for more teachers to be sent to this area that is welcoming to foreigners.

10. (Fri.) Sierra Leone
Jon and Heleen Yoder serve at the Mattru United Brethren in Christ Hospital. Renovations have begun to the hospital's maternity ward. Praise the Lord for the funds that have been raised for the project and for those who are doing the work. Ask that all the renovations can be completed before the rainy season begins in June.

11. (Sat.) U.S.
In the midst of all the summer events, EMM will come face-to-face with many people from supporting churches. Pray for good connections and a heightened awareness of God's mission through EMM.

12. (Sun.) Costa Rica
Ask for strength and wisdom for Jen and Daryl Hoover as they minister with the VidaNet program. Pray for each of their four sons as they attend school and interact with friends and peers.

13. (Mon.) Cambodia
Pray for children's program workers to help with children's character development, and possibly discipleship and mentoring within a rural house church movement.

14. (Tues.) Germany
Roberta and Mike Lotvola serve with a discipleship training program. Pray for wisdom and joy as they teach young people from various parts of Germany and as they work with their three daughters.

15. (Wed.) East Africa
Pray for a mission intern* serving in East Africa. Ask the Lord to give her boldness to practice language skills with locals to share Christ's love with her neighbors.

16. (Thurs.) Global
A Muslim and a Christian in Dialogue by David W. Shenk and Baddru D. Kateregga is being translated into both the Amharic and Bosnian languages. Pray for this process and that this book will continue to reach many as a witness to the way of peace.

17. (Fri.) U.S.
Thank God for the staff of EMM's Central Administrative Office in Salunga, Pa., who work very hard to care for the global workers. Pray for rest and peace as they continue to provide all the much-needed resources for all workers.

18. (Sat.) East Africa
Pray for wisdom for Joe and Gloria Bontrager as they continue to develop and publish materials for partner churches in East Africa.

19. (Sun.) U.S.
Pray for the Kingdom Team summer staff team that is currently developing. Ask God to unify their hearts to work together with His heart for those they will be ministering to this summer.

20. (Mon.) Middle East
Jade* is moving to a new city in the country where she is teaching. Pray for a good transition and that all the details of the job and housing arrangements will be worked out.

21. (Tues.) Bosnia and Herzegovina
Pray for more workers to serve long-term in Bosnia and Herzegovina by working alongside a small evangelical church situated in a predominately Muslim city of 200,000 people.

22. (Wed.) Belize
Pray for Tim and Julie Groff as they walk alongside local believers and church leaders. Ask that they can be an encouragement as they continue to grow as a community and a family.

23. (Thurs.) Honduras
Pray for the GO! Honduras team of youth who will participate in a four-week discipleship program with VidaNet this summer. Ask the Lord to prepare their hearts to grow deeper in relationship with Him through this experience.

24. (Fri.) Thailand
Pray for wind and rain in northern Thailand so that the hazardous air will be lifted as it is causing adverse health reactions. Continue to pray for Nathan* as he teaches English - that the people in his class will come to know Jesus. Join in praying for Nathan and Valerie's* visa situation.

25. (Sat.) Costa Rica
Pray for Stefanie Good and Leah Zeiset as they are more than half-way through the outreach portion of the discipleship program with Vida2020. Ask the Lord to use their experiences to bring transformation in and around them.

26. (Sun.) Global
Gerry and Donna Keener recently completed their service as non-resident workers to Vietnam so that Gerry can focus on his responsibilities as EMM's president. Pray that God would grant him much wisdom and sensitivity to God's Spirit.

27. (Mon.) U.S.
Pray for Amanda Martin as she prepares for a summer internship in New York City. The 10-month EQUIP missionary training teaches interns principles that lead to reproducible church planting.

28. (Tues.) Germany
Darrel and Miriam* are working with an intercultural church in Germany. Ask God to bless them with His love flowing between people of many cultures who worship together.

29. (Wed.) Wales, U.K.
Ask that God might send more people to the Going Public internship, in partnership with Glenwood Church. These interns will gain experience alongside British young adults in ministries such as youth, children, community work, social action, teaching, sports ministry, and creative arts.

30. (Thurs.) Spain
Rolando and Andrea* serve with relationship building and church planting. Praise God for the opportunity that their son, Daniel, had to share about God with his classmate. Ask that God would move in the life of this classmate as well as in the lives of other people with whom Rolando and Andrea have shared. May God continue to use their family in the various ministries in which they are involved.

31. (Fri.) Kosovo
An invitation stands for long-term workers to join a small body of believers in Kosovo and participate in discipleship and congregational life. Pray to the Lord of the harvest for more workers to be sent to this landlocked country in the Balkans.

CHICAGO — At the largest annual Muslim gathering in North America, thousands of Muslims browsed a bustling bazaar showcasing products, businesses, and opportunities by and for Muslims. Of over 500 booths, only one represented a commitment to dialogue and friendship from the perspective of committed followers of Jesus the Messiah.

SALUNGA, Pa. — Nathanael Thorne and Joseph Manneh, friends from across the world, didn’t expect to meet again. For 10 months, their 2012–2013 Guinea-Bissau EMM YES team brought together nine missions-minded youth from West Africa and the U.S., including Thorne, from Washington, D.C., and Manneh, from The Gambia.

SALUNGA, Pa. — “There would be many reasons for staying at home. We have already given our best 25 years to overseas work. We have built a house but have rarely lived in it. Our fruit trees invite us to remain and consume their bountiful harvest. Our parents have been in the hospital several times of late. We would enjoy keeping frequent contact with our growing children in the United States.”

Those were the words of missionary James Sauder (February 4, 1935 – July 22, 2016) after 25 years of evangelism, church planting, Bible teaching, and leadership development through Eastern Mennonite Missions (EMM) in Honduras and beyond. Yet Sauder and his wife Rhoda left home again to live and serve in the Dominican Republic, extending their missionary career to 30 years with EMM.

SALUNGA, Pa. — She wrote countless lesson plans, graded hundreds of compositions, welcomed students who needed a listening ear at all hours, and poured many, many cups of tea. She had a quiet but profound influence on early leaders of Meserete Kristos Church in Ethiopia, the largest Anabaptist conference in the world today.

WILLOW STREET, Pa. — Thirty-two adults and children were commissioned as missionaries at EMM’s commissioning service on July 10, 2016, at Willow Street Mennonite Church. The workers, both new and reappointed, will be serving in 14 countries including the U.S.

WILLOW STREET, Pa. — More than 1,000 visitors enjoyed learning about the cultures, foods, and customs of countries around the world at Eastern Mennonite Missions’ Global Fair on Saturday, July 9, 2016. The grounds of the Hans Herr House and Museum were filled with exhibits hosted by EMM workers, staff, volunteers, and friends of more than 16 countries around the world. Visitors could purchase delicious food from places like Somalia, Puerto Rico, and Tajikistan. Children enjoyed creating free crafts, petting llamas, and playing a variety of international games.

MILTON, Pa. Inviting a Muslim family to share a meal in your home: is this simple action key to helping Christians build bridges of friendship with their Muslim neighbors? After leading a group of Community Mennonite Fellowship congregants through sections of David W. Shenk’s “Approaches to Islam” video course, that’s just what Ron Geib did. And after a class filled with enthusiastic learning and discussion, about 20 other churchgoers are better prepared to take those simple, significant steps toward making Muslim friends.
