PROMESA, a bilingual Christian school in Cusco, Peru, initiated by the Mennonite Church in Peru and supported by workers and funds from the EMM community, had an exciting year in 2014.
Far south of the equator, in the southern third of Chile, one finds a beautiful landscape of mountains and islands in the sea. But this beautiful area harbors an ugly secret. Government studies indicate as many as seven out of ten children are being sexually abused.

CHILOE, Chile - Although YES teams sent by Eastern Mennonite Missions often serve all together in one location, the five-member 2014-2015 Chile YES team is discovering greater impact through dividing the team to serve in several island communities in Chiloe, a region of southern Chile.
The beauty of the islands lying off the coast of southern Chile is tainted by darkness. Government studies indicate that as many as eight out of 10 children there are being sexually abused. Throughout Chile, EMM workers have joined with others to help prevent the abuse.
