I am not the same person I was when, as a nineteen-year-old, I went into YES. I remember the hot summer training in Baltimore, language study in Antigua, and outreach in Guatemala City.

NEW YORK CITY, New York – The Mennonite Garifuna churches of New York City have been working to assist numerous Garifuna immigrants who have arrived in New York since June 2014. To date they have assisted approximately 140 families, helping them with food, clothing, legal assistance, and travel fare to legal and medical appointments.

Cornelius experiences

A phenomenal job

Mennonite pastor and church planter George Nyaundi has worked for peace in Sotik ever since the town erupted in violence during the controversial elections in Kenya in December, 2007. Sotik was the site of intense conflict between two distinct people groups, the Kisii and the Kipsigi, and George worked tirelessly to bring leaders from both sides together.

A sweet influence

An after-school program for seven- to fourteen-year-old children in very rural Cambodia expanded into two new villages in 2014. Parents signed up 120 children, more than EMM workers John and Debbie Coats expected.
