We at EMM believe that God is calling us into "ridiculous” amounts of prayer.
So we are looking for intercessors willing to commit to one hour of EMM-related prayer each week. These intercessors will receive a monthly email with one or two priority prayer requests to help guide their prayers.
No meetings are required. Members of this core prayer team are encouraged to share what they are hearing in prayer and are welcome to join EMM prayer gatherings as they are able.
Prayer is the channel through which God's power flows to bring His kingdom on earth. Our vision is to see that channel growing in size and strength so that we can see even greater transformation taking place around the world.

September 2019 Mission Intercessor
2 (Mon.) U.S.
Pray for EMM Central Administrative Office staff members as they review service opportunities in order to update the website and print the annual opportunities booklet.
3 (Tues.) Middle East
Imogen* began her long-term assignment in August. Pray that God would open her mind to absorb the language and that she would sense God’s presence with her.
4 (Wed.) U.S.
Pray for someone to join a local church in Baltimore, Md., in serving the local community, including a small school that provides quality education for children at risk.
5 (Thurs.) U.S.
Continue to pray for Joe and Gloria Bontrager as they finish their assignment as non-resident volunteers to East Africa on August 31. Pray for God’s grace and wisdom to empower them in the time of transition.
6 (Fri.) Costa Rica
Keep Kayley Eshleman and her family in prayer as she prepares to begin a 10-month mission internship with the VidaNet discipleship program.

Pray for Ethan* as he transitions to a 50 percent non-resident role. He will continue his responsibilities as a regional representative.

Pray for EMM Church Relations as many congregations have invited speakers for fall renewal meetings and missions festivals. Pray for good connections and conversations.

Michael Clancy has many opportunities to walk with and disciple people struggling with addictions. Pray for wisdom in balancing his work and family life in Lebanon, Pa. Praise God for those who are finding freedom and new life in Christ.

Thank God for the people who provide faithful financial support for the work of God through EMM around the world and here in Lancaster. Pray for God's continued blessing on all of those who give, pray, and volunteer!

Ask God to continually encourage John and Debbie Coats as they teach and encourage others in following Jesus in Cambodia.

Pray for Josh Varner as he begins a 10-month mission internship with the VidaNet discipleship program.

Pray for Debbi DiGennaro and her family as they adjust to living in the U.S. Debbi will continue in her role as the regional representative for East Africa through December. Pray for wisdom as she leads from a distance.

An individual is wanted to serve as a visiting professor and teach for a semester at one of two possible universities. Pray that someone would respond to this request.

Pray for Steve Horst and Bethany Tobin as they continue to walk with and disciple new believers. Join with them in praying for more local friends for their children and for grace with language learning.
16 (Mon.) Southeast Asia
The skills of a web designer and a media technician are needed for a transformational business in Southeast Asia. Pray that God might send people to fill these roles.

Pray for Nathan and Valerie* as they continue to teach and resource mission teams coming to their city. Join with them in praying for movements of people coming to faith in Thailand!

Pray for Paula* as she trains and equips persons working to bring peace in high conflict situations. Pray for safety in travel and physical health and strength in a busy schedule.

Pray for someone passionate about discipleship to serve and walk with a small church in Kosovo.

Pray for wisdom and direction for Ted and Julie Smoker as they discern how they can best come alongside the K'ekchi' people and demonstrate God's love and hope. Pray also for the whole family as they continue to learn both Spanish and K'ekchi' languages.

Ask the Lord for more young adults to answer the call to make disciples through a gap-year mission internship for the upcoming year.

Continue to pray for the salvation of persons that Rolando and Andrea* are walking with. Pray for their sons, Wilmer and Daniel, in their interactions with friends and for wisdom for Daniel in his decision about whether he should switch to an online school.

Thank God for Joe Hollinger, EMM Advancement director. Pray that he and his wife, Cheryl, experience times of deep rest and renewal as they continue to serve faithfully.

Hannah Zimmerman has come through a busy summer of many opportunities to walk alongside current and future missionary children. Pray for renewed strength and wisdom as she continues to connect with and encourage children and youth.

Pray for physicians and other health professionals to serve at a Mattru Jong hospital. Current long-term workers who are leaving at the end of the year hope to see an individual or couple replace them.

Sometimes you don’t know exactly how to pray for the EMM workers you carry in your heart. That’s a good time to “pray the Scriptures.” Turn the scriptures below into prayers by inserting the name of the missionary you are supporting in prayer.
