Volunteer as a doctor or nurse in a medical facility. The nature of the work depends on the worker's area of specialty. Experience or interest in tropical medicine preferred.
Travel around the region to a circuit of churches, or offer training in a relevant specialty (e.g. evangelism, discipleship, etc.). This position could belong to a non-resident worker who visited the region once or twice a year.
Make guests from all over the world feel cared for and welcomed at Amani Gardens Inn (formerly the Mennonite Guesthouse). Help managers stay in touch with the changing needs of guests. Engage with guests during breakfast and dinner; join them for tea when possible. Pastoral gifts, hospitable personality, and international experience desired.
The photojournalist will write articles and take related photos to facilitate communication with the North American constituency about EMM's work in the East Africa region.
Working or retired professors are invited to spend a semester at one of several universities in East Africa. Teach in areas of specialty, such as leadership, theology, or ESL.
Tour a North African country and learn Arabic, sharing the good news of Christ’s love and forgiveness with locals; or focus on learning language, remaining mostly in one city. Be equipped to work with refugees and immigrants in your home area, and develop a deeper understanding of a region from which many of them come.
